This will allow the development of hypersonic airplanes (until to Mach 15 and beyond) and artificial satellites launchers at more reduced costs of those possible today.....- Istituto per l'energetica e le interfasi (IENI), tunnel per la simulazione di volo a velocità ipersonica; ricerche sulla tecnologia "scramjet" ( Supersonic Combustion Ramjet)...In questo impianto, sviluppato dal Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche e dall'Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, sono attualmente in corso prove su modelli in scala ridotta di propulsori a razzo RBCC (Rocket Based Combined Cycles) che ricavano l'ossigeno per la combustione dall'atmosfera invece che dai serbatoi.
